Serving opportunities in our church
Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.
We are happy to announce The First Church DeLand Volunteer Accelerator.
It is a simple tool designed to connect people with opportunities to serve.
By gathering a small set of responses—such as interests, gifts, experience, and availability
it correlates those answers with current ministry needs.
Fill it out today to see which are your top ten.
Filling out the quiz does not obligate you to volunteer. It’s designed to provide personalized serving suggestions.
Volunteer FAQ
How do I volunteer?
Fill out the Volunteer Accelerator linked above. Once you are done, it will show you your top 10 matched ministries. Select to see more info and contact the person in charge of the ministry or the church office.
How do I volunteer with kids?
We take the safety of our kids and students very seriously. Whether it is infants in the nursery or a teenager, you need to pass a background check to work with our kids. We require that you have been active in the church for a certain length of time. You will also need to meet with our Children or Youth director prior to getting involved.
How do I volunteer with music?
If you are interested in volunteering with the contemporary praise team your information will be forwarded to Ed, praise team leader, or Jessie our Audio/Visual guru. If you are interested in singing with our traditional choir or playing with our bell choir your information will be forwarded to Joyce, our traditional music director.
How do I volunteer with feeding programs?
As we strive to reach the physical needs of people in our community we have developed several feeding programs. We have a feeding program to the homeless, elderly and to families of those in need. When you submit your interest and desire to help in this area your information will be passed on to the appropriate team leader.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45
Here at First Church DeLand volunteers are the backbone of the church and all of its ministries. We have many opportunities for any and all to get involved with, whether you have a specific passion, or just want to help out wherever is needed. We have everything from greeting on a Sunday morning, to sharpening pencils in our traditional sanctuary during the week, to disaster relief, if we don't have it we will work to create an opportunity for you. We believe in putting our faith into action, living it out within the church and outside throughout our community. Wherever you are, whoever you are, join us in being the hands and feet of Jesus.
